So What Will the Kids Do at Home?

With the launch of Operation Roaring Lion, we began a new series of Zoom meetings designed for children of reservist families – an initiative that aims to provide both a moment of breathing space for parents, and a sense of community and a hug from afar for the entire family during these difficult times.

The first meeting was an interactive and immersive Zoom for teenagers that included short and entertaining games, puzzles that require true creativity and encourage thinking outside the box, and a flowing and energetic atmosphere, which made this hour an unforgettable meeting.

On the second day, we invited the children of HaOgen for Reservist Families to a Play-Doh workshop on Zoom with artist Gili Drover. The children created really beautiful Play-Doh chameleons and it was simply a pleasure to see that the parents also participated and created with them 🩷

On the third day, we held a Hamentaschen baking workshop with Oren the baker👨‍🍳 and we managed even though there was a siren in the middle!

The participating families sent in photos of their final products that looked yummy 😋

On the fourth day, we turned the house into a school for magicians! 🎩🪄Over four hundred girls and boys participated on Zoom and learned from Jordan Shalev how to perform amazing magic tricks from objects that everyone has.

We ended the week with a comic drawing workshop led by Daniel Wallich, a Zoom session that was perfect for the children after finishing their Zoom school lessons. Our message to the children of reservist families is: We are here. With you. Every moment.
