Our story

HaOgen (The Anchor) for Reservist Families is an extraordinary volunteer initiative, established on October 7th, 2023, by former MK Rachel Azaria. The organization provides comprehensive support to families in which one of the parents is in IDF reserves service. Since October 7, many reservists have served for over 400, 500, or even 600 days with more reserve duty scheduled in the future. We offer families a broad range of assistance, including practical, emotional, and community support that is tailored to their dynamic and individual needs.

Today, we are the largest organization in Israel assisting families of IDF reserve soldiers. We support over 40,000 families (approximately 180,000 people), organized in 700 communities spread across the country - from Mount Hermon to Eilat.

So What Will the Kids Do at Home?

With the launch of Operation Roaring Lion, we began a new series of Zoom meetings designed for children of reservist families – an initiative that aims to provide both a moment of breathing space for parents, and a sense of community and a hug from afar for the entire family during these difficult times.
